Key Deliverables

The UNIHUBS project has achieved key milestones, including implementing Design Thinking Bootcamps in Ghana, conducting international training mobility, and organizing co-creation workshops across African countries. It has published a MOOC educational package, hosted local and international brokerage events, and released a policy brief. The project continues to share progress through periodic updates, academic and non-academic publications, and comprehensive reports ensuring quality and transparency.

Good practices from Capacity Building or other EU-funded projects

UNIHUBS leverages valuable insights from previous EU-funded capacity-building projects to enhance the educational and innovation ecosystems in African universities. By adopting proven strategies such as fostering international collaboration, modernizing curricula, and promoting digitalization, the project strengthens the link between academia and industry. These good practices have been instrumental in shaping the design and implementation of co-creation workshops, training programs, and policy recommendations, driving impactful outcomes for higher education institutions and their students.

Implementation of the Design Thinking Bootcamp in Ghana

The Design Thinking Bootcamp, set to be implemented in Ghana under the UNIHUBS project, will focus on equipping students and educators with innovative problem-solving techniques. This upcoming hands-on training will introduce participants to the design thinking approach, encouraging creativity and collaboration to solve real-world challenges. With an emphasis on digital tools and action learning, the bootcamp aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset and prepare participants for the demands of the digital innovation labor market.

International Training mobility

The upcoming International Training Mobility initiative under the UNIHUBS project is designed to foster cross-border collaboration and knowledge exchange between African and European institutions. This program will provide opportunities for students, educators, and professionals to gain exposure to new learning environments, best practices, and advanced digital innovation techniques. By enhancing skills and creating international networks, the training mobility aims to address skills mismatches and boost the employability of participants within the digital innovation ecosystem.

Co-creation workshops in Ghana, Kenya and Tanzania

The UNIHUBS project will facilitate co-creation workshops in Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania to foster collaboration between universities, industry, and digital innovation hubs. These workshops will bring together key stakeholders to co-design innovative solutions that address the specific needs of the digital innovation labor market. By encouraging active participation from students, educators, and industry professionals, the workshops aim to align academic curricula with market demands and enhance the entrepreneurial and digital skills of participants, contributing to the modernization of higher education in these countries.

International virtual brokerage event

The International Virtual Brokerage Event under the UNIHUBS project will serve as a platform for connecting higher education institutions, digital innovation hubs, and industry stakeholders across Africa and Europe. This event aims to facilitate networking, partnerships, and collaboration opportunities, helping participants to exchange ideas and foster joint projects in digital innovation and entrepreneurship. By bringing together a diverse group of participants in a virtual environment, the event will enhance the visibility of emerging innovations and strengthen the global innovation ecosystem, supporting the project’s goal of addressing the digital skills gap.

Policy brief

The UNIHUBS project will produce a Policy Brief aimed at influencing national education policies and strategies across African countries. This document will highlight key findings from the project, including insights from capacity-building activities, co-creation workshops, and industry collaborations. It will provide evidence-based recommendations for integrating digital innovation and entrepreneurial skills into higher education curricula. By engaging policymakers and educational authorities, the Policy Brief seeks to support reforms that modernize educational systems, ensuring they are aligned with the demands of the digital innovation labor market and fostering sustainable development.
